Roxby Downs, Andamooka and Woomera are well serviced by State Government Health Services, local doctors and visiting Practioners and fitness facilities. The towns very young demographic (median age 29 years and 28% under 15 years of age) is reflected in the Health Professionals emphasis on prevention and programs to support young mothers and families.
Country Health SA manages a 10 bed hospital, Accident and Emergency Department, rooms for medical practitioners, dentist and a range of visiting practioners including Chiropractor, Optometrist, Mental Health Nurse and Dentist.
Roxby Downs has two General Practitioners Rooms, Community Nurses and Midwife, local Pharmacy with two Pharmacists, Physiotherapist and local masseuses.
There is a local Ambulance Service (Call 000 for Ambulance Only), more serious cases requiring more care than possible in Roxby Downs are flown out by the Royal Flying Doctor Service.
